Sandro Ramirez ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
Former Club: Malaga
At under £6m the signing of Sandro Ramirez represents excellent value for money. A young centre forward with a burgeoning reputation, the former Barcelona front man arrives at Goodison Park on the back of a very successful season playing for Malaga in La Liga. 14 league goals made him a wanted man across Europe and Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh went out of their way to attract the Spanish u21 international to Goodison Park.
Early glimpses of Sandro in an Everton shirt have been mixed. He made a positive impact in the first leg of the Europa League qualifier against Ruzomberok, coming on from the substitutes bench to give Everton’s attack much-needed impetus. However given a starting position alongside Wayne Rooney in Slovakia, he appeared to be trying too hard and produced an underwhelming performance. The Spaniard managed to put that right very early on against Seville in the final friendly match of the summer, scoring after just 30 seconds and showing the watching Evertonians his ruthlessness in front of goal.
Sandro will need time to settle into English football and may well be in and out the side in the opening months of the season, especially if the Everton board are able to secure the additional centre forward that Ronald Koeman craves. But his potential is unquestionable and the number of top sides chasing his signature shows how highly rated he is. I truly believe he will become a firm favourite at Goodison Park and for the first time in a number of years Everton have a player worthy of the famous number 9 shirt.
