With less than 10 hours to go until the winter transfer window closes, here are the latest players being linked with The Mighty Blues of Goodison. I have been somewhat surprised by the lack of rumours reporting big money moves away. Let’s hope it stays that way!
With the team letting Naismith go this month it is obvious that rumours that would link strikers to add to the team’s attacking options is becoming very common. Oumar Niasse is currently plying his trake for Lokomotiv Moscow and has scored 12 goals in 21 games this year along with providing an impressive ten assists. He moved to Lokomotiv from Turkish Super League side Akhisar Belediyespor for €5 million. Currently he is priced in the €15 million range.

With some bigger priced options out there, and the need to address the current defensive frailties of the team, this option might be a smart one for Everton. It is important that we have more depth in our strikers.
This would be a move that would make some big headlines. Vermaelen moved to Barcelona after a successful period with the Gunners. The centre back has been getting very few opportunities with the Catalans and is looking to get more first team chances to ensure his place in Belgium’s Euro 2016 squad.

This would be a big move for a player that brings some hamstring injury worries after playing only 12 games since his move from Arsenal in 2014. He brings experience and the required ball handling that Martinez requires. There has been reported interest from Lazio and Chelsea. I am not sure how his need for regular first team action would be met by a move to Everton with Stones and Jagielka taking those places and Funes Mori providing support.
The high flying Algerian is currently playing very well for Sporting Lisbon in Portugal with an impressive 16 goals in 18 appearances. He has a release clause in his contract of €22 but the general consensus is that he will not be moving until the summer.

Another attacker who would add to our forward options. He is a great finisher and is looking to make the step up to the Premier League with Manchester Utd. Keeping tabs on the 27 year old. Metro have reported that Everton have had a €13.7 million offer rejected.

I am a testament to the fact that Evertonians are born. My first matches were spent sitting on one of the crush bars in the Gladwys Street end watching the Holy Trinity weaving their magic on their way to the league championship in 1970. After moving to Canada it was hard to stay connected but the popularity of the game has increased and the internet now allows me to see every game live and keep up with all things Everton.
