Rumours coming out of England and Ukraine are suggesting that Everton are planning a double raid on two of the countries biggest stars, renewing the clubs interest in Andriy Yarmolenko and also moving for Dnipro goalkeeper Denys Boyko.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Everton have reopened negotiations with Yarmolenko’s agent about a move to Goodison, although with Dynamo Kiev progressing to the knock out stages of the Champions League a summer move would appear to be more realistic. Everton would happily meet the Ukrainian player of the years £14.5 million release fee, but negotiations have become more complicated following Yarmolenko signing a new 5 year contract in the autumn.
Elsewhere and recognising the clubs need for a new goalkeeper, Everton are interested in giant goalkeeper Denys Boyko. Standing at 6ft 6, the Dnipro keeper was one of the stars of their run to last season’s Europa League final, a run which earned him a nomination as part of the UEFA team of the season.
With three caps for his country he remains largely untested on the national stage, but he has significant European experience. At 27 he is a good age for a goalkeeper and looks to be under consideration to replace the under pressure Howard. Boyko shares an agent with Yarmolenko and rumours suggest that Everton will try to push through a January transfer. Watch the YouTube video below to see Boyko in action.
