Roberto Martinez will give John Stones every chance to be available for Mondays trip to West Bromwich Albion after the defender was taken off at Reading on Tuesday with a knee injury after 50 minutes. The manager said:
“We have been pleased with John’s reaction to treatment in the last two days, i still think the next 48 hours are going to be important and I wouldn’t say that he isn’t going to be in the squad – it’s too early to make a decision. It will be touch-and-go for West Brom.”
Seamus Coleman has also not been ruled out for Monday after missing the last two matches with a hamstring injury.
“Seamus is already working on the grass so he could well be involved in the game on Monday, both he and John have been progressing well, as have everyone else who has been receiving treatment.” “The squad should be the same that we had against Reading and Swansea, with the possibility of having John and Seamus in that squad.”
