Best of the Web – Everton vs Swansea (1981)

Everton travel to take on Swansea City on Saturday looking to protect an unbeaten league record against the Swans. Everton’s impressive record against Wales’ top team reads played 20, of which Everton have won 13, with 7 draws and no defeats.


We have scoured the internet in search of archive footage and have come across this brilliant match from 1981.

Howard Kendall was in his first season as Everton manager and decided to select himself in the Blues midfield. Swansea named Toffee legend Bob Latchford as centre forward and former Everton keeper Dai Davies in goal.

    Great clip but when you look back they had nothing like the pace of today .A few to remember from that piece that I had long forgotten
