MONDAY 17th August 2015
A quiet day at Goodison. A few media outlets are starting to pick up the Blues interest in Yarmolenko and Funes Mori but I would expect the interest in both to rumble on towards the end of the transfer window.
The board in-out debate is become heated and is certainly dividing the fan base. Unfortunately neither side seem to be fighting fair, with personal insults flying around on social media. A sad reflection of a fan base who have become disillusioned. It is easy to forget that Everton produced a thrilling performance at the weekend and we should all be looking forward to pitting our wits against the early season form team in Manchester City.
TUESDAY 18th August 2015
We knew this one was going to go on and on and after their disappointing start to the season Chelsea are back with another bid for John Stones. The offer is £30m (probably the largest bid for a player in the history of Everton) and it is quickly and immediately rejected. Everton also remind their Chelsea counterparts that Stones remains unavailable for transfer. In other words NOT FOR SALE!
WEDNESDAY 19th August 2015
Everton u21s were back in action today in the mini Merseyside derby. The Blues got off to a disastrous start with new signing Mason Holgate conceding a penalty after just 12 minutes with Harry Wilson converting to put the Reds 1-0 in front. It got even worse fairly quickly with Liverpool adding a second and third goal after just 36 minutes. Everton pulled a goal back before the break through Joe Williams. After the break Conor McAleny scored Everton’s second and Tom Davies scored a dramatic 85th minute equaliser.
THURSDAY 20th August 2015
Today was all about transfers. Reports from Argentina suggest that Everton have agreed a £6m fee for River Plate defender Ramiro Funes Mori, with club and player also agreeing personal terms.
Several media sources are also reporting that an Everton delegation have agreed a £15m fee with Dynamo Kiev for Andriy Yarmolenko. This would represent an excellent piece of business for Everton and would be a clear signal of intent for the remainder of the season.
The story that keeps giving is the on going John Stones story. The tabloid newspapers are intimating that Stones will submit a transfer request before the weekend in order to push through a move to Chelsea. If true, this would be a surprise turn of events and would be totally out of character for the England defender.
FRIDAY 21st August 2015
The day started with Roberto Martinez’ weekly press conference and he very quickly denied that Stones had submitted a transfer request and even if he did it would make little difference. Stones is NOT FOR SALE! Martinez later confirmed that the Blues were very close to completing two deals, thought to be Funes Mori and Yarmolenko.
Everton’s late transfer dash appears to show no sign of slowing, with reports in Uruguay claiming a deal has been struck between Everton and River Plate Montevideo for striker Leandro Rodriguez.
SATURDAY 22nd August 2015
With the Blues not in action until Sunday, focus remained on potential incomings. Ramiro Funes Mori has flown into the UK and is stopping in the Liverpool Hilton. Surely only a matter of time before this one is complete.
Twitter was in melt down this afternoon with Yarmolenko named in the Dynamo Kiev starting XI. The Ukranian was the star of the show, scoring 3 and assisting 2 more in a 6-1 win for Dynamo. After the game the forward refused to answer questions on the subject of a move to Goodison.
SUNDAY 23rd August 2015
Everton 0-2 Manchester City – A disappointing defeat to the early seasons form team! Everton were unable to break the City defence down and after an error from Tim Howard allowed City to take the lead Everton never really looked like taking anything from the game.
Footage has appeared on the internet featuring Everton shareholder Jon Woods stating that in his opinion (one which is shared by Bill Kenwright) John Stones is NOT FOR SALE!

Still no confirmation on the transfer front although the list of names linked with the Blues continues to grow. Funes Mori, Yarmolenko, Leandro Rodrigues plus two new links, the Brazilian attacking midfield player Bernard and Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj.
