Roberto Martinez has provided an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of Sundays clash with Manchester City at Goodison Park. The boss revealed there was no new injury concerns and that Kevin Mirallas, who took a blow to his ankle against Watford and only took a place on the bench at Southampton, was now fully fit and raring to go this weekend.
“From the squad that travelled to Southampton, we had no knocks or bruises.” “We had very positive news on Kevin Mirallas, with whom we had to be a little bit cautious. He was ready to be involved if needed (against Southampton), but after that challenge against Watford, he wasn’t 100 per cent.”
Aiden McGeady is now also fully recovered from his injury problems which saw him miss most of pre-season and the opening two games of the Premier League season which means the Blues will only be without long term absentees Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar, Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert.
