Everton escaped with a 2-2 draw after a tepid first half performance and a couple of defensive lapses left the Blues battling for a point.
In the end Everton were grateful for a Ross Barkley thunderbolt and a late Arouna Kone equaliser to rescue a point. Martinez got it badly wrong in the first half giving the hornets far too much respect. The Toffees were a different side in the second half but ultimately left themselves too much to do to rescue the three points.
