Everton finished their pre-season campaign in disappointing fashion, slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Spanish side Villarreal.
The Blues looked lively in the opening half hour but after they slipped a goal behind they were always second best and in truth the score could have been much worse.
The final minutes were however a great celebration, with the arrival of Wayne Rooney and Duncan Ferguson onto the pitch and with the crowd lifted Everton pulled a goal back through Tyias Browning.

Need to improve our finishing and get 4 more players in, squad is desperately thin! Another forward, play-maker, centre half and left winger, Then and only Then will we do well!
Pretty worrying performance today. Some neat football first half with no penetration and a worrying lack of creativity or goal threat second half. Let’s hope for some signings asap. Great to see Duncs and Roons, if only we’d seen them a bit earlier
Very true Mogsy, RM has had over a month to get a good no.10 in & a good C/B, not to mention a decent striker & left winger! Going off the guy BIG time, don’t think he’s got what it takes to be manager of EFC! I’m dreading the games after Watford.
Don’t worry bill will come up with £30m to sort it out, sorry I ment £30.
Yeah no doubt £30, just about Kenwright’s limit! He has no ambition & neither has the board! I’m dreading this season as lessons haven’t been learnt & not enough players in atm doesn’t bode well! RM just cant help himself when he opens his mouth, ie “I want to get all my targets in long before the season starts” Well you’ve got 5 days! Another classic “We only need 2 more players in”.
