It’s Cup week and we have certainly got the fever as the excitement grows ahead of a possible return to Wembley. Everton are 90 minutes away from a return to the Capital, with a win over Wigan on Saturday putting David Moyes’ team within touching distance of the cup final.
As we enter quarter-final week, we are going to look back over some special memories from years gone by, as we revisit some of Everton’s greatest 6th Round moments. Today we go back to 1984, and a win over Notts County at Meadow Lane. Everton would win the Cup that year, with Graeme Sharp and Andy Gray scoring the goals in a 2-0 win over Watford. Gray also scored in Nottingham, scoring a header from a scarcely believable position. Kevin Richardson celebrated the other goal in Everton’s 2-1 win over the Magpies.
