Everton 0-0 Swansea
Everton endured a frustrating afternoon at Goodison as Swansea arrived looking for a point and were successful in achieving a 0-0 draw.
Unbelievably Everton had completed 16 successive matches with both teams scoring, with the last time they kept a clean sheet, the reverse fixture in Wales earlier in the season. However with Laudrup’s tactics designed to keep the Blues at bay, Everton were left disappointed with 2 cleared off the line and a number of first half opportunities missed.
Positives to come out of the game were the very impressive performance from the undoubted man of the match Seamus Coleman and the clean sheet, which has been badly missing from Everton’s impressive first half of the season. Nikica Jelavic looked sharp in the first half hooking the ball inches wide early on, before seeing a glancing header cleared off the line from a Baines corner.
Most worryingly for Moyes will be the way in which Swansea were able to nullify the threat of Baines and Pienaar by employing a second full back on the Swansea right.
