Manchester City 1-1 Everton
Everton were denied a deserved victory by a referee looking to ensure Champions Manchester City maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Everton should have been out of sight at half time, but after the imperious Fellaini had given the Blues a deserved lead, they were pegged back by a Tevez penalty kick, after the Belgium was adjudged to have fouled Dzeko. Fellaini was tugging and pulling on the Bosnian forward, however far worse goes on in the penalty area in every single Premier League match and up to 10 penalties would be awarded a game if consistency along these lines was to be employed.
Everton were impressive throughout, first half showing an attacking verve which has put them right in amongst the challenges for the Champions League places, and a defensive resilience in the second 45 minutes which demonstrates why Everton have such a good record against the top sides over the last 24 months.
