David Moyes appears to have finally found what Everton have been missing since the departure of Andrei Kanchelskis, a genuine attacking threat on the right hand side.
Anyone who has watched Everton on a regular basis will be aware of the outstanding threat the team possess on the left, with Baines and Pienaar the best full back / winger combination in the league, just ask Gary Neville who highlighted the understanding to the world on sky sports.
“One of the games which drove me to retirement was at this ground against Baines and Pienaar,”
“They have a brilliant understanding, they know exactly what the other is going to do. They are fantastic together. Baines has been one of the top performers in the Premier League for the last five years. It is a really strong position for England.”
One of the main changes this season is the threat that the Blues now have on the right hand side. For Pienaar and Baines, read Mirallas and Coleman. Seamus Coleman is a genuine attacking threat from right back, very much in the same mould as Baines, the young Irishman loves to get forward at every opportunity and has the tricks and drive to get past him man and supply a dangerous ball into the box. His partner in crime, Kevin Mirallas has already exceeded expectations. The Belgium has fitted straight into the Everton work ethic and his inter change with Fellaini and Pienaar provides the Toffees with a genuine goal threat.
The Blues have become ambidextrous and the Premier League are still learning to cope with Everton’s penetration both flanks.
