Everton’s hopes of silverware in the Capital One Cup ended in embarrasing fashion with an extreamly disapointing 2-1 defeat to Championship outfit Leeds United.
Everton started off poor, conceeded after 4 minutes and got gradually worse in a torrid evening at Elland Road. With 6 changes from the weekend, Everton failed to show the competition or the opposition the required levels of respect and paid the price with Leeds entering the hat for the 4th round draw.
Roll on the weekend and a return to Premier League action. Three points required to lift spirits and continue the push for European football next season through the league.
